Family Day: Frontier Conflict, Frontier Coexistence

Experience 300 years of interaction between Native American and European American cultures. From the first contact of the De Soto Expedition with the Mississippian Societies in the 16th century, to the changing alliances of Creek, Cherokee, British, and Americans in the 17th & 18th centuries, through the Trail of Tears of the 19th century, the Northeast Georgia Frontier has seen violent conflict and mutually beneficial coexistence. Learn about it all with Living History demonstrations and Hands-on activities at the Northeast Georgia History Center.
