The theme for the Northeast Georgia History Center's 2018 Chautauqua season is "Women of the Years", exploring the stories of three fascinating Georgia women - the American Revolution Loyalist Elizabeth Johnston, founder of the Girl Scouts of America Juliette Gordon Low, and Gainesville's pioneering African American educator Beulah Rucker. These three very different women overcame difficulties both personal and public as they left their marks on family, community, and nation.
