Join us to hear author Phil Hudgins speak about his new book: Travels with Foxfire: Stories of People, Passions, and Practices from Southern Appalachia.

Foxfire it is a heritage preservation organization dedicated to keeping distinct cultural elements of Appalachia alive. More information can be found at www.foxfire.org

Phil's addition to the Foxfire series will include more than thirty essays, in which you will discover the secret origins of stock car racing, the story behind the formation of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the vanishing art of gathering wild ginseng, and the recipes of an award-winning cookbook writer. You will meet bootleggers and bear hunters, game wardens and medicine women, water dowsers, sculptors, folk singers, novelists, record collectors, and home cooks—even the world’s foremost “priviologist”—all with tales to tell. 

Signed copies of Travels with Foxfire will be available from the Museum Shop at the regular MSRP of $19.95
