Journalism and the First Amendment in Northeast Georgia looks at how the idea of a free press impacted our region and our mountain communities.  The 1st Amendment is a somewhat ethereal and lofty ideal, but in 2012 the History Center examined the real and everyday practice of it within this region and illustrated how a noble, national ideal is translated into personal and historical relevance for individuals and communities in Northeast Georgia.

Part of the project included the printing of a special edition newspaper that tells the story of Journalism and the First Amendment in Northeast Georgia.  The links below provide PDFs of the pages of that special edition, or print copies may be picked up at the History Center at no charge.
