Book an On-Site Program Colonial America & the American Revolution James Oglethorpe will speak about the founding of the Georgia Colony, his negotiations with Chief Tomochichi, his friendship with Mary Musgrove, and the challenges he faced in Georgia. Mary Musgrove will speak about her work as the Georgia Colony's official translator, how she became a tradeswoman in Savannah, and what her work was like with James Oglethorpe. Thomas Jefferson will speak from the year 1803 when he is president. He will discuss writing the Declaration of Independence and creating a new Constitution. Benjamin Franklin will discuss his many inventions, his work as a diplomat, and his experience during the Second Continental Congress when the Declaration of Independence was created. Benedict Arnold will discuss why he chose to defect to the British Army during the American War for Independence. Loyalist Elizabeth Lichtenstein Johnston will share her story of being a Loyalist during the American War for Independence. She will discuss the threats to her family's life, escaping Georgia, and her views on the American Revolution. Westward Expansion Sacagawea shares her story of how she became a member of the Corps of Discovery with Captains Lewis & Clark. Captain William Clark of the Lewis & Clark Expedition shares the story of his journey with the Corps of Discovery. Abolition & Women’s Suffrage Suffragist and abolitionist Lucy Stone discusses her long career as a speaker and lecturer on human rights. An American Suffragist in the year 1920 shares the story of the Women's Suffrage movement from the first Seneca Falls Convention to the passing of the 19th Ammendment. The American Civil War A Civil War soldier and nurse share their experiences of the war including equipment, weapons, and rations. This program can be from either a Union or Confederate perspective. World War I & the Turn of the Century Girl Scouts Founder Juliette Gordon Low discusses how she started the Girl Scouts of the United States and how Girl Scouts served on the homefront during World War I. A member of the Army Nurse Corps shares her experiences as a nurse during World War I. Author Margaret Mitchell describes her life growing up in the South in the early 1900s and how she wrote Gone with the Wind. World War II "Rosie" is a riveter at the Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta, Georgia in the year 1944. She tells you her story of working in a factory building B-29 bombers and what it's like on the homefront during World War II.
