We are excited to introduce the first round of our new Time Travel Adventures!

Must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

James Oglethorpe

Meet General James Oglethorpe to learn about the founding of the Georgia colony in 1733! General Oglethorpe will share the philosophy behind the colony, important figures like Mary Musgrove and Tomochichi, who the first settlers of Georgia were, and more!

Combine with our Mary Musgrove adventure to meet both in the same session!

Mary Musgrove

Meet Mary Musgrove who served as General James Oglethorpe’s official translator when the colony of Georgia was being developed. Learn about her life as a tradeswoman, her cultural heritage of both Yamacraw Creek and English, what it’s like to be a translator, and her thoughts on the new colony of Georgia.

American Revolution: Soldier & Camp Follower

Meet a Continental Soldier and a woman Camp Follower to learn about the everyday experiences of those fighting and aiding in the American War for Independence. Students will see equipment, weapons, tools, and more up close (including a musket firing demonstration!)

American Revolution: King George III

Meet King George III at his home in England just after the Treaty of Paris has been signed. Students will learn about the reasoning behind King George III’s decisions during the American Revolution, the challenges the British forces faced, and the perspective of Loyalists in the colonies.

Lewis & Clark

Meet Captains Lewis and Clark at the end of their journey to the Pacific and back with the Corps of Discovery! Learn about the goals of the expedition, the dangers they faced, the tribes they met along the way, and other important members of the group like Sacagawea and York!

Combine with our Sacagawea adventure to meet all three in the same session!

Sacagawea

Meet Sacagawea, the young Shoshone mother who traveled with the Corps of Discovery to the Pacific Ocean and back! Learn how Sacagawea joined this treacherous journey, how she used her skills and knowledge to help, the dangers she and her baby faced, and the surprises along the way!

Harriet Tubman

Meet abolitionist, suffragist, and conductor of the Underground Railroad Harriet Tubman at her home in New York in the year 1890. Students will learn about Harriet Tubman’s life as an enslaved woman in Maryland, her many trips along the Underground Railroad, her valuable work during the Civil War, and more.

Civil War Soldier & Nurse

Meet a soldier in the Union Army and a volunteer nurse during the American Civil War! Learn about the soldier’s weapons and equipment, what training was like, why he joined, what fighting in a battle is like, and how soldiers entertained themselves during downtime.

Learn about how Civil War nurses cared for soldiers, the impact nurses made during the war, and the common medical equipment used by doctors.

President Abraham Lincoln

Meet President Abraham Lincoln at the White House shortly after the end of the Civil War. Learn about his childhood, his early jobs and career in politics, and the challenges he faced as President during the Civil War.

Juliette Gordon Low

Meet Girl Scouts Founder Juliette Gordon Low in the year 1920 at her home in Savannah, Georgia. “Daisy” will share stories and memories of early childhood, how she became the Founder of the Girl Scouts, and how Girl Scouts have contributed to their communities across the United States (and even the world!)

George Washington Carver

Meet the famous botanist, environmental scientist, artist, and professor George Washington Carver! Learn about his childhood growing up in the wake of the Civil War, the challenges he faced to achieve a good education, and his many many discoveries of how to use the peanut!

Rosie the Riveter

Meet a World War II “Rosie” at the Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta, Georgia in 1945. Learn about the jobs and skills that women learned as they took jobs in factories across the United States, what their training was like, and how “Rosies” across the country played an important role on the Homefront in Georgia.
